Management of 'The Tribune' (leading daily of northern India) has SUSPENDED 12 democratically Elected office bearers of 'The Tribune Employee's Union' on BASELESS charges.
Suspended Employees include 6 senior journalists, 5 out of them r from Punjabi Tribune. Suspended Employees include President of Union Balbir Jandu (Deputy News Editor-Punjabi Tribune), Ex president of Union and Chandigarh Press Club Jagtar Singh Sidhu (Special Correspondent-Punjabi Tribune), Special Invitee Surinder Singh (Deputy News Editor-Punjabi Tribune), Special Invitee Balwinder Jammu (Senior Staff Reporter-Punjabi Tribune), your friend and Executive Member of Union Balwinder Singh Sipray (Sub-Editor-Punjabi Tribune), Senior Vice President Rajiv Kaplish (Deputy News Editor-The (English) Tribune) and General Secretary Anil Gupta. Other suspended employees r Pritam Singh Bhinder, Ashok Malik, Rajesh Malik, Rajesh Kumar and Omveer Singh all office bearers and senior leaders of the tribune. To other office bearers Karamvir Singh and Sushil Tiwari are victamised since more than 3 years. Anti employee General Manager of The Tribune sanjay hazari has orderd not to pay any wages (salary) to them since then. They r not being paid a single penny since then, because theire intry into Tribune premisses is bannde but they r not suspended.
Friends days has gone when Tribune was an example of good and healty employer and employee relations, but about 5 years back when The Tribune Trust appointed sanjay hazari as GM, the things started to change and to become worst. sanjay hazary is facing criminal charges for his anti employees and unfare labour practices. The Chandigarh Administration after high lavel enquairies has registered 14 cases of unfare labour practices against 'accused' sanjay hazary under labour laws of India, bt still he is not mending his ways and creating provocations in the institution only to damage 130 years old The Tribune institution. some of the 'Trustees' of 5 (now 4, cos 1 members has resigned against these policies) member The Tribune Trust are also with them.
Friends, The Tribnune is not a private porperty of any individual because it is run by a PUBLIC TRUST, becaus founder of The Tribune great visionary Sardar Dayal Singh Majithia, had established this trust out of all his property, whose gradn father was a Sardar in the Court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He had made this trust for well being of the Peoples of Northeren India, hence The Tribune is the property of the people of this region of Inda, but these people including Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune Raj Chengappa are trying to make it their private property. They think that for this only hurdle in their ways is The Tribune Employee's Union which works as a Watchdog in the institution, so they are trying to finish the Union.
We request all the peoples of India in general, and Peoples of northeren India in particular to support Tribune Employee's Union in it cause to save The Tribune, especially its character as 'voice of people' which is the slogan ot The Tribune.

Long Live the Fight for Justice!
Employees Unity Zindabaad!
Tribune Employees Union Zindabaad!
This is a matter of shame for Mr. Virender who is calling these journalists as mafia, who r fighting for their democratic and constitutional rights.
Mr. virender, they have full support of a big part of journalists of Chandigarh and other parts of Northern India. Mr. Jagtar Singh Sidhu remained democratically elected of Chandigarh Press Club for many year and members of same group still elected as Members of Governing Council of Chandigarh Press Club only because of support of Journalist Community of Chandigarh. Elections for Governing Council of Chandigarh Press Club are held every year on last Sunday of March. This year elections r going to held on March 27, 2011 and again this club will show u their popularity in these election.
These people r leading Tribune Employees Union (Regd.) Recognized for more than 12 years. Tribune Management and its General Manager, Sanjay Hazari tried best to demolish Tribune Employees Union or get defeated this group in democratic election of The Union held every 2 years, bt could not succeed. for ur knowledge Mr. Sanjay Hazari is facing 14 criminal charges of Unfair Labor Practice for his anti employees activities and policies n decisions. , under Indian Labour laws. These 14 cases r registered by The Chandigarh Administration after thorough Enquiries. One of these enquiries was done by the then ADC of Chandigarh Mr. PS Shergill.
And Tribune Employees r totally Unite and fighting for their cause of justice and to save Tribune Employees Union and also the institution of Tribune, which is run by a public trust and a public property, not a private property as mr hazari is trying to make it his personal property.
